Friis officially joins fnatic

Imagefnatic today officially announced that Friis has joined their Counter-Strike team.

After the news was essentially confirmed by DK Danny 'zonic' Sørensen that DK Michael 'Friis' Jørgensen would leave DK mTw for SE Fnatic , fnatic has officially announced the move today. The Danish sniper will apparently fill the shoes of the recently retired SE Harley 'dsn' Örwall.

SE Fnatic 's new lineup:
SE Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon
SE Rasmus 'GuX' Ståhl
BA Faruk 'pita' Pita
SE Richard 'Xizt' Landström
DK Michael 'Friis' Jørgensen

The fnatic website conducted interviews with both Friis and fnatic captain cArn about the move.

SE cArn on integrating Friis into the team:

"We will utilize Friis´ AWP as much as possible. It was tricky for us to find a balance with our game post Delpan´s departure, as he was taking on Harley´s sniping job for 6 months which meant by the time Harley got back on duty he had lost several months of hardcore practice with the sniper, something that can be devastating when playing on the highest level. Obviously our latest failures is not only because of lack of a designated sniper, but it is a vital part of the team and I´m all clear that Michael will fit in this role perfect as he without any doubt is a world-class sniper."

DK Friis on how he came to join fnatic:

"After they have lost delpan / dsn they lack an AWP player. I feel I am conscious my worth for the last many events. My old team we were often unfortunate and made some stupid decisions are made we always missed the last major battle to get to the playoffs where anything could happen. I've always looked up to fnatic and I've talked really well with some of the players from the team. I hope it's because they think that I have the talent to be able to become as good as dsn or delpan. I will certainly do what I can to play my best game."

Speaking on the controversial issue of Friis joining fnatic less than two weeks after joining mTw fnatic's Business Development Manager, Neil Kirk, said:

"We should make it clear that Michael decided to join Fnatic prior to officially signing a contract with mTw, even though it had been (possibly prematurely) publically announced"

Friis previously played, most famously, for Roskilde Ravens and TCM. His best placings were 3rd at the IEM IV European Finals, 1st at DSRACK #3 and 2nd at KGC #2.
