kaLa was one of the first editors to emerge from the moviemaking scene as a star name whose work people would follow purely since his name was attached. This German editor built his name off compilation movies and features focused on some of the best German players of all time. His neo movie raised the profile of both the subject and the editor, while his latter day mousesports movie has been widely hailed as one of the best movies of that year and all time.

kaLa is best known for being an early adopter of cinematic camera angle usage and soundtracks to set the scene for his movies, particularly during intros. He also early on used music to specifically synch key moments in his movies. His style of music changed from metal/rock early on to more electronic-based selections later on.
