The Call of Duty XP - L.A. 2011 started yesterday with a big keynote of the brand new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and the new community website Call of Duty Elite. After the presentation, which was over one hour long, the CoD XP started official with a lot of activities like paintball on a original rebuild of the multiplayer map "Scrapyard", the armoury of Call of Duty with original weapons from the game and of course the $1 Million tourney presented by Xbox 360.

32 teams from Europe, Australia and North America will play the tourney in the brand new multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. A big challenge, because nobody had the chance to play the MW3 multiplayer before and a lot of well known teams are represented e.g. mythiX eSport , Optic Gaming and the UK team of apeX-eSports .UK.

The first opponent for our guys was Vundabar, a team from the United States. Our team around Michael 'QuiCky' Bühler, Kevin 'raidN' Kreutzberg, Max 'Tapout' Anders and Brian 'qntm' Krämer had the chance to play MW3 at the Gamescom 2011 for only 15 minutes, but they had no problems against their opponents and won the match with 3:1 and are safely in the best 16 CoD teams of the world!

The next opponent today is called IcoNs, who are also from the United States. The game will start around 11 PT (2 ET) and if our guys will win the match, they are under the top 8 and therewith in the prizemoney which is partitioned like this:

2nd place: $200,000
3rd place: $150,000
4th place: $100,000
5th place: $ 75,000
6th place: $ 50,000
7th place: $ 35,000
8th place: $ 25,000
