ImageESL have announced that the ongoing season of EPS Germany will feature a prize purse which resembles almost half of the previous season.

With the latest season of EPS Germany already under way, ESL have announced that the winter season of the ESL Pro Series league will feature a €12,000 (~$17,258) prize purse, €8,000 (~$11,505) less than the Summer season.

Furthermore, the teams that are participating in the league will also have to settle for reduced match win bonus prize money. €7,680 (~$11,045) will be split amongst teams that win their respective matches compared to last seasons €20,700 (~$29,770) bonus prize purse.

EPS Germany prize purse distribution:

1. €6,000 (~$8,629)
2. €3,000 (~$4,314)
3. €1,800 (~$2,588)
4. €1,200 (~$1,725)

In contrast to the €21,000 (~$30,202) cut from Counter-Strike 1.6, FIFA has also been hit by similar funding cuts. Counter-Strike: Source, Starcraft 2, Trackmania and League of Legends on the other hand will feature prize purses which are similar to the previous season. It should also be noted that CS:S features a €17,300 (~$24,880) prize purse, meaning that Source now has a higher prize fund than 1.6 with CS 1.6 boasting a €12,000 (~$17,258) prize purse.
