SK Gaming is amongst the 64 names signed up for today's IEM VI Global Challenge New York European Qualifier #1. The top four teams in the first qualifier will be joined by the top four from the second in the final qualifier, held on September the 11th, to decide which three teams will represent Europe at the American event.

While the Guangzhou qualifiers were barren of elite level teams it seems as though the prospect of going to the USA has enticied the big guns to come to play. mTw and Frag eXecutors will be fighting for a spot in the final qualifier along with dangerous dark horses like Moscow Five , ESC Gaming swe Lions swe and Mousesports .

Five of the teams on the above list are fresh off e-Stars Seoul performances a week ago. FX won the tourney outright, dropping only a map in the final, while SK Gaming came in second with losses only to the Poles. mTw finished 4th, following a nightmarish loss to Na`Vi on train in double overtime to put their map win rate against the Ukrainians at a mindboggling 15.79% all time and go 0-7 on that map vs. 2010's team of the year. mouz and WinFakt both finished 5th-6th, after losses to mTw and Na`Vi respectively.

Lions come in with some steam built up thanks to pushing FX to the limit at the recent ASUS Summer event. notable qualified for IEM VI Global Challenge Gangzhou earlier this month, along with mouz.
