ImageFinnish underdogs WinFakt have eliminated fnatic from e-Stars Seoul 2011 in 7th-8th after beating them 16:9 on mirage in the lower bracket.

FI WinFakt Fi came up with the goods on mirage to put SE fnatic out in 7th-8th place at e-Stars Seoul 2011. WinFakt now move to face UA Na`Vi on inferno to see who will make top 4 and who will bow out in 5th-6th. inferno was the same map WinFakt lost to DE mouz on in the opening match of their e-Stars campaign, going up 13:8 but losing every single remaining round as terrorists.

The Finnish underdogs took it to the Swedes with a rock solid opening CT half of 10 rounds. In the second half they got to 13 quickly enough but then fnatic started to clamp down and string rounds together. A key round came as BASiC won a clutch 1vX situation against multiple fnatic players trying to defuse, and cover, the bomb. He came out of the apartment area onto the balcony and killed them to push his team two rounds from victory. After that the floodgates opened and WinFakt pushed their way through to a victory over the team many still considered Sweden's second best.

For fnatic this loss marks their worst placing of 2011. The team once known for being a sure-fire bet to reach top 3 has been shaky every since their miraculous IEM V European Championship run ended, and with the loss of Delpan even more so. A number of beatings from SK in the many events held at Dreamhack set the stage for what has been a very one-sided matchup which can almost not be called a rivalry in terms of in-game performance. In the playoffs of that event they exited 5th-6th after facing Na`Vi.

At Adepto BH, shortly after, they were on the wrong end of a perfect game from the same Ukrainians, losing 0:16 on tuscan in the deciding map of the final. At GameGune a 14:16 loss to ESC on train in the lower bracket put cArn's team out in 4th. Here at e-Stars they won their opener against UMX, lost to SK, beat x6tence and now have been eliminated following their loss to WinFakt. Disappointing times for fnatic fans as the team continues to search for answers as to how they can climb back into the top tier of competitive CS.
