SK.LoL will be heading to IEM Global Challenge, GuangzhouAfter a long day of play in the IEM Global Challenge Guangzhou final qualifiers, SK Gaming have earnt their place in China by finishing in 1st place.
The day went well for SK, They flew passed their early opponents with some great play, knocking both
Clan Poland LOL and
LoLLeague into the lower bracket.
This meant that SK were in the upper bracket final facing off against
Millenium for the first place in China.
Match 1
The final match was a BO3 affair and it proved to be vital as SK perhaps went into the game a little over confident. Millennium punished them for this by taking strong early game dominance which proved to be too much for SK to pull back.
An early turning point was where SK, attempting to steal [M]'s blue, failed their smite leaving Blue with around 10hp which Millennium then smited. This meant that SK had no smite or blue for their Jungler, hindering him greatly.
Match 2
The second game saw SK back on form. The second match was a close affair and lasted 46 minutes. The kills stood at 28-19 in SK's favour with
Adrian 'Candy Panda' Wübbelmann on a healthy 12-8-9 with Vayne.
SK used this advantage and secured the second match ensuring we would go into a win takes all final third match.
Match 3
The third game found Millennium lacking some of their vigour from the previous matches, maybe it was the deflation of losing the second match but the third saw SK dominate.
The score was 24-8 after 33 minutes with everyone of SK's players putting in a strong performance.
Patrick 'Nyph' Funke went 0-0-22 on Soraka and
Tim 'WetDreaM' Buysse went 6-0-16 on Jungle Gangplank, both being involved in 22 of the 24 SK kills.
This victory earnt SK their place in China and served as great preparation for Global Challenge Gamescom next week.
