ASUS Summer 2011 groups drawn
The organisers of ASUS Summer 2011 have drawn the groups for the $8,400 CS tournament.

The organisers of ASUS Summer 2011 have drawn the groups for the $8,400 CS tournament.A total of 17 teams have been split into four different groups for the upcoming ASUS Summer 2011 CS tournament, set to take place from August 13 - 14. With an uneven number of teams, Group D will feature an extra team, seeing ASUS Spring champions
Natus Vincere being paired up with a Uzbekistan and three Russian teams:
The top two teams from each group will proceed to the playoffs with each group-stage match being formatted as best-of-three maps. Rather peculiarly however, the ASUS Summer organisers have decided that a teams that lose a game but wins a map will be granted one point. Winning teams will still receive the standard three points.
The event will kickoff at Saturday 13 August at 9:30CET with the playoffs also being expected to start on that day. The event will carry on through to Sunday however, running alongside the online European qualifier of the IEM Global Challenge Guangzhou event.
ASUS Spring 2011 was won by Na'Vi after the Ukrainian team defeated their fellow countrymen DTS in the grand finals of the event after beating them on de_nuke with a score of 16:7 followed by a 16:11 victory on de_dust2.
The prize pool of ASUS Summer has once again dropped, this time down to ~$8,400, with the Winter event featuring a ~$10,100 prize while the Spring event boasted a reduced ~$9,250 figure.
