ESL have revealed that the third Global Challenge of IEM Season 6 will be hosted in New York at the world famous Comic Con exhibition.

After recently announcing the IEM Global Challenge Guangzhou, ESL have been quick to release information regarding the next Global Challenge which will be hosted America's New York City, more specifically at Comic Con 2011 from the 13th to 16th August.

A total prize purse of $93,000 has been allocated to the Global Challenge with the the 16 player StarCraft 2 tournament boasting a $21,000 prize pool as well as one all important World Championship slot. Counter-Strike 1.6 & League of Legends teams on the other hand will battle it out for two World Championship slots each as well as a $40,000 prize purse for CS and $32,000 for LoL. With the new ranking system, teams will also be fighting for ranking points which may secure them a slot in the World Finals in the future.

- 1 South American Team
- 3 European Team
- 1 Asian Team

StarCraft II:
- American Champion
- 7 American Players
- 4 European Players
- 3 Korean Players
- 1 Chinese/SEA Play

Leauge of Legends:
- American Champion
- 3 American Teams
- 3 European Teams
- 1 Asian Team
