ImageMaciek 'av3k' Krzykowski has won the ASUS Summer 2011 QuakeLive Masters following a 3-1 win over team mate Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky.

The online tournament took place today and saw sixteen players from around Europe compete for a share of the 430 dollar prize pot. Featuring in the event were a few high rollers of QuakeLive, including RU Anton 'Cooller' Singov, BY Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky, PL Maciej 'av3k' Krzykowski, FR Kevin 'Strenx' Baeza and SE Sebastian 'Spart1e' Siira.

Early on in the group stages, Russian sensation Anton 'Cooller' Singov suffered a surprise loss to BY slimK in the final round of games, which coupled with an earlier loss to Sebastian 'Spart1e' Siira saw him exit the tournament earlier than expected.

Later on in the day, eventually winner Maciej 'av3k' Krzykowski found an easy route to the finals, unlike team mate and finalist Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky who had a gruelling semi-final battle with French aim-star Kevin 'Strenx' Baeza which ended in a five map thriller in Alexei's favour.

In the final av3k began the match with a 4-0 win on Lost World, but the game soon evened up with cypher claiming a map point after a 5-2 win on Furious Heights. A close Aerowalk game followed that, with maciek coming out on top 10-8 before clinching the match with a 19-12 win on toxicity.
