ImageEarlier last week, delpan was named the MVP of Dreamhack Summer 2011 by HLTV.org in the website's public and expert polls.

Following a successful Dreamhack Summer campaign which saw SK Gaming defeat mTw in the grand finals of the event to win the ~$9,600 first place prize, SE Marcus 'Delpan' Larsson has been named HLTV.org's MVP of the event.

Delpan was the fifth best rated player of the event (0.78 KPR, 0.60 DPR, 1.19 rating) and the best AWPer of the event (89 AWP kills, 0.34 AWP KPR, 44% of kills) according to HLTV.org's statistics and in the MVP polls received 37.4% of the overall votes.

Below is what HLTV.org had to say about Delpan:

In the fourth major event of the year, we had a new winning team as well as a new MVP. SK Gaming won the tournament and the Most Valuable Player according to the majority of opinions was their latest addition Marcus "Delpan" Larsson. Even though the public picked Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev slightly ahead of Larsson, almost half of the experts prevailed and named the Swedish AWPer as the MVP. The tournament's official best player, Martin "trace" Heldt ended up 2nd in the vote overall, also mostly thanks to the opinions of the experts.

Larsson joined SK Gaming only a few weeks prior to the tournament, leaving fnatic on rather bad terms and breaking his contract. But, as far as him and SK Gaming are concerned, it payed off immediately as the team managed to win an international title right away after 10 months without success, while Larsson took his second title this year, after winning IEM5 European Championship Finals with fnatic.

The main area where Larsson brought improvement for the team was of course AWPing, by which he certainly helped them win some extra rounds that they couldn't win before. He ended up being the best AWPer of the tournament with a 0.34 awpKPR (89 total kills) and he played well on a consistent basis, recording ratings above 1.00 on 8 of 10 occasions. In addition to that, he was by most people considered the best player of the final against mTw, and all those things significantly backed up his MVP claim.

Furthermore, SE Christopher 'GeT_RiGhT' Alesund, SE Marcus 'Delpan' Larsson and SE Patrik 'f0rest' Lindberg all made it onto the website's Dreamteam alongside Ukrainian star UA Ioan 'Edward' Sukhariev and the event's official MVP DK Martin Alexander 'trace' Bang Heldt.
