SK officially announces partnership with oGs by which they MC and NaDa will represent SK Gaming in events outside of South Korea. NaDa's first event will be Assembly Summer.SK Gaming is today officially announcing its partnership with Old Generations (oGs) which will see world famous SC2 players
and
Yoon-Yeol 'NaDa' Lee representing SK Gaming at events held outside of South Korea. At domestic events, in South Korea, MC and NaDa will play as oGs players, but with an SK Gaming patch on their uniforms. At non-Korean events they will wear SK Gaming uniforms.
NaDa's first event representing SK Gaming will be Assembly Summer 2011 in Finland.
SK Gaming's SC2 division:
Yoon-Yeol 'NaDa' Lee
oGs manager
TheWind had the following to say:
Alexander "TheSlaSH" Mueller, Managing director of SK Gaming, explained:
Min-Sik "reis" Ko, player manager of SK Gaming, added:
MC is widely considered to be one of the very best players in the world, if not the best, and has the accomplishments to back up that reputation. He has won two GSL titles, the Dreamhack Invitational and Copenhagen Games. He also placed 3rd-4th at the GSL World Championship, 3rd at MLG Columbus, 3rd at HomeStory Cup III and 2nd at NASL.
NaDa is one of the most famous names in StarCraft history, second perhaps only to that of BoxeR. After the aforementioned 'Emperor' NaDa was the second truly great player to grace Brood War, and is considered second in the lineage of bonjwas who dominated the game. With a record six individual titles and ten finals appearances he still holds a number of records to this day. He was the first player, and now one of four, to ever win the golden mouse, for three OSL titles.
Since switching to SC2 NaDa has proven to be one of the most consistent players in terms of performance level as he has made the Ro8 of GSL's Code S three times, finishing 3rd-4th last season.
NaDa's first event representing SK Gaming will be Assembly Summer 2011 in Finland.
SK Gaming's SC2 division:
oGs manager
"Today the players MC and NaDa are joining the partnership with SK Gaming and we are really happy for them and thankful to SK for this big opportunity. I will do all the best I can to ensure that both players are bringing good results for the partnership of SK Gaming and oGs."
"Adding those two names to the SK roster and entering this partnership with oGs is one of the most exciting steps SK has taken in the past few years. Ever since we signed Korean players for our RTS section, it has been a blast. We are more than happy to present those two to our community and we are hungry for StarCraft II titles!"
"I am very happy to welcome those two big names in SC:BW and SC2 history to SK Gaming. I know both privately and I know that both are really nice guys and very ambitious. It's an honor for me to work with both from now on and thanks to oGs for the cooperation."

gl to MC & Nada tho.
It's not like this deal prevents any further acquisitions in the future.
anyway, albeit disappointing, interesting move
Fully agree with basically all what Arceus said.
If they were fully signed with SK, they would have to pay salarys which are more expensive than all of their squads combined.
Nice advertise for the sponsors though, real fans can only hope that maybe this way SK might be able to build an new own team in the future again. (that is IF they can get their financial situation back on track)
this is just very weird cooperation i doubt it will last long :X
but at least it is a good advertisement for SK, whole SC2 scene is talking about it :)
SK = CS not starcraft, you will never be part of what we consider the most clean e-sport. This news made me sick, and I will simply watch less SC2 thanks to you... keep out of SC2 everything you touch dies or gets worsen.
Really, really bad move. Get a team and make your own players... what a lack of self preservation and self respect. You can't even make your own team without renting players. You are a disgrace for e-sports.
Best regards to all SC2 fans. All CS fans, ignore this message.
For people who want to know more, make a small search about NADA he has alot of history, however not so much as Slayers_Boxer who is also playing SC2. I'm guessing HE WOULD NEVER be hired by SK because he would say NO WAY SIR! AM I RIGHT?
I will be looking forward to seeing [Red]NaDa come to foreign events, not SK|NaDa.
And as it is still a small thing in eSports SK does not have to put that much money into it, but the things you can win by playing racing games are almost better than in Starcraft tournaments. BMW M6 in 2007, VW Scirocco in 2008, Chevrolet HHR in 2009, Nissan Z350 in 2010, Mercedes SLS just a week ago have all been main prizes for ESPORTS tournaments in racing I know about. Furthermore things like GT Academy (played on a console) bring virtual racers into real cockpits and let them become real racers racing in 24h of Dubai and 24h of LeMans. Just wanted to make things clear and that having a racing team is not obviously a waste of money.
What's exciting about it? 90% of the community either laughs or sighs, if not both, at it. SK might help the global scene or whatever by sending NaDa to major tournaments, but as everybody else with some sense has stated.. nice sponsordeal, didnt know SK was into charity (if they end up actually paying), but aqcuisition.. haha, hell no.. only Mr.Müller will see them as SK-players
you guys need to fucking grow up.
As i read some of these comments I do have to say that SK really does need to try and hold tryouts for more members of the SC2 division. I really dont mind u using nada or MC in fact I think it will be good to see MC and NaDa in more international events. However some of these comments are right, not using a Euro or American based team does hurt us. Because there is TONS of talent out there.. and just giving them a practice house will only make them better. Just my 2cents they dont matter Just thought I would thro that in.
