GSL October to be hosted at Blizzcon

The Global Starcraft 2 League, truly attempts to become global in a fantastic way.The Global Starcraft 2 League or GSL, has arguably become the pinnacle of Starcraft 2 competition among the many tournaments that are hosted all over the world. With almost ten competitions already being held by the GSL, in the year 2011 alone, it has become one of the greatest leagues in Starcraft 2.
However, the GSL has lately been attempting to reach out more to its foreign fanbase, and initiated many incredible opportunities for foreign players to compete. One such example is the FXOpen team competing in the GSL Team League, and the GSL World Championship, plus the recent MLG-GSL partnership.
Now in order to cater more to its foreign fans, the Global Starcraft 2 League will host its first GSL Finals at Blizzcon, which has been hosted annually in Anaheim, California.
Mr. Chae an employee of GomTV and the GSL had this to say about this future endeavor into a foreign land:
Unfortunately, while the news is very exciting, to anyone who all of a sudden wishes to go to Blizzcon will have to find other means of entrance as all passes for Blizzcon 2011 have sold out already. However, for those who were lucky enough to acquire one, they will have the rare opportunity to see the best that Starcraft 2 E Sports has to offer.
Blizzcon 2011 will be held on October 21-22 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

"I hope GSL becomes a festival for all the e-sports fans around the globe. I don’t want StarCraft 2 to become an e-sports title like SC BW which was excluded to people inside of Korea.
Currently, Korean gamers are competing with Korean gamers inside of Korea. However, thanks to the emergence of frequent foreign tournaments, they are willing to fly over to compete. They are also very impressed and are enjoying the support from foreign fans.
For these reasons I have decided to hold a GSL final outside of Korea and have been making preparations for it. The decision was not easy to make. This will be our first time and therefore a great challenge for us to send our staff to produce and transmit from overseas. But it is worthy of a challenge for GSL and something that must be done at some point.
As many of you already know, Blizzcon is held every year at Ahaheim and it is the biggest event for all those who love Blizzard’s games.
Yes, the final for GSL Oct. will be held in Anaheim. You will be able to enjoy both Blizzcon events and GSL final."
