tao forced to pull out of ICSC8

Imagetao have been forced to pull out the the ICSC8 after their sponsor withdrew their support without warning.

With just three days to go until the Intel Challenge Cup 8 LAN finals, RU tao have announced that they have been forced to pull out of the event due to a sudden withdrawal of support from their sponsor.

RU Boris 'watti' Litvyakov told HLTV.org:

"During the tournament, we had a sponsor that promised us that we would go to ICSC 8 finals. Also, he supported tao during this tournament and some previous Russian tourneys.

After the 2nd group stage, he confirmed our journey, so everybody was sure that we would go to Kiev. But suddenly, Tuesday night, he told us that he won't help us. We regret it has to be like this, and we wish to apologize to the ICSC 8 organizers."


According to sources of HLTV.org, the ICSC8 organisers will be making an announcement regarding the situation later on today. Currently however, Group A is left with just three teams: SE SK Gaming , PL Frag eXecutors and UA KerchNET .

tao managed to qualify for the ICSC8 LAN finals after topping Group D in group-stage one with 5 wins and 1 draw before automatically qualifying for the finals after half of the teams in their group in the second group-stage decided to withdraw from the event.
