ESL have announced the sixth season of their Intel Extreme Masters and CS, SC2 and LoL as the headline gamesThe Electronic Sports League have announced the sixth season of their Intel Extreme Masters along with the three games which will headline the event.
Since the fifth season ended in March, no indication had been made by ESL or Turtle Entertainment, a totally different route in comparison to last year which saw Intel marketing manager George Woo announce the next season prior to the CS prize ceremony.
Once again officials behind the Extreme Masters have chosen to alter the headlining games, this time seeing League of Legends step up to replace Quake Live. The game had a small side-tournament at the last seasons global finals, but will now join Counter-Strike 1.6 and StarCraft:II as a main title.
Other than the season announcement and games, no other information has been released, but is expected to shortly.

LoL is no eSports
spectatormode for the community will come with season 2 and on big events its already used.
clicking a single unit 9872472987 times? ok you're right but im pretty sure theres a big difference in reaction and how you click :P
and teamplay is a point here. there's a reason that there are soo many equaly skilled players but such a few pro teams.
Hahaha, try because the skill ceiling is clearly visible and very low.
LoL has grown faster than any other game in the last year, it is one of the most played games currently and this includes the big titles.
So many people playing it shows it has appeal to spectators and players alike.
The hate towards it is ridiculous, instead of flaming you should be supporting the fact there has emerged a dominant title for this genre.
''What a horrible esports decision to remove QuakeLive in favor of League of Legends http://t.co/vgUZAa5, Exactly, esports is all about money and not about the game/fun anymore, LoL is wayyyyy more profitable.
Which is so sad for esports “@FredrikReinius: @geekboys Can't say I fully agree on that decision either but I guess it's a numbers game.
ESL picking LoL feels a little like the CPL picking Painkiller for their World Tour...
@Slasher and Angry Birds have millions, maybe that should be the next title? I think it is sad that esports is turning away from its core
@RalfReichert CS, SC2, QL would have been the best esports decision by far. Don't forget your roots! We don't want to dumb down the scene.
Esport tournaments should have one DM title (QL), one TDM title (CS) and one RTS title (SC2). It shows all aspects of what it is all about.
