After a long fought 3 day tournament and nearly a year of 'Season 1' we now have the very first League of Legends World Champions.

fnatic were able to overcome against All authority in the all-EU Grand Final, a testiment to the skill of their team and that of the EU community.

Fnatic started averagely on Saturday having to field a substitute due to Enrique Javier 'xPeke' Cedeño Martinez having his connecting flight delayed which meant he missed his final flight!

However on Sunday xPeke was back and since then him and his team were on fire. By the time Fnatic reached the final the forums were alight with praise for one player in particular, Maciej 'Shushei' Ratuszniak earnt the tournament MVP award with some stunning play on Gragas and Alistar.

Game 1

In the final Fnatic only needed to win 1 match as aAa were coming up from the losers bracket. The first match didn't go to plan for Fnatic however with the French powerhouse showing the hundreds of thousands of viewers exactly why they have a reputation as a concrete team in the EU.

aAa totally counter banned Fnatic with them banning both Gragas and Alistar which were aimed directly at Shushei. They then first picked Malzahar who is a favoured pick of xPeke.

The counter banning allowed them to control the line-ups to their advantage and they were able to take this through and win the first match.

Game 2

The teams went into the second game with the scores tied at 1-1, this meant the winners of this match would go home with $50,000 and the title of Season 1 Champions.

As we saw aAa do in the first game they again set out to out pick Fnatic. We saw Shushei forced once again on to Brand but this time, perhaps crucially, Fnatic were able to pick up Ashe.

Ashe, as far as AD carries goes, doesn't offer the insane damage of some other champions but she does have possibly the greatest initiation in the game. As has been shown throughout the tournament, she can be devastating. In game 1 aAa picked up Ashe, this time it was reversed and so was the result!

Fnatic were able to secure the second match and the Season 1 Champions crown with some good play from all their players, although in this game i'd argue Manuel 'LamiaZeaLoT' Mildenberger was the MVP with his score of 5-1-11 on Ashe.

After a legendary weekend of LoL we have our first World Champions and we saw some truly incredible play.
