After failing to impress in the IOL FINAL4 finals, fnatic stepped up their game for the WCG Sweden 2011 finals in an attempt to strike down their main rival. Although their performance improved significantly from last night, SK Gaming once again took two straight maps to win the match.

As a result of their victory, SK will walk away with a fully paid trip to the WCG 2011 Grand Finals in South Korea while fnatic will have to pay for their trip to Asia out of their own pockets.

fnatic clearly outplayed SK Gaming in the first half of the map (dust2), taking 11 rounds as Terrorists with some brilliantly executed strats and plays by the likes of Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon. When the teams swapped over however, SK showed fnatic how to really play a strong Terrorist side. After losing the first pistol round, SK managed to rake in 10 consecutive rounds before briefly losing momentum. After losing their second round to the Counter-terrorists, SK went all out to secure their 16th round to win the first map.

On de_nuke, fnatic once again began with a strong start, taking the first five rounds with relative comfort. Just like the IOL FINAL4 group stage match between the two sides however, once Patrik 'f0rest' Lindberg got going nothing could stop him. By the end of the first half, SK were behind by just one round. When the teams swapped sides, SK was clearly superior as Counter-terrorists, taking nine rounds in a row without conceding a single round to the terrorists to win the the tournament.

The rivalry between the two teams however will continue as they will once again clash this weekend, this time in the Dreamhack Summer 2011 group stage at 19:00CET on de_mirage, providing that the tournament is not delayed.
