Russian side USSR have decided to withdraw from the Intel Challenge Super Cup 8.Last night Russian team
USSR issued a statement to Intel Challenge Super Cup officials stating they have decided to withdraw from the tournament. Today it has been confirmed by ICSC 8 admins, resulting in the tournament which is due to start its second group stage this week being reduced to 15 teams.
According to a statement issued by USSR team manager Anton 'Cyclone' Lapshenkov the reason behind the decision is because the USSR organisation as a whole is experiencing structural changes;
With USSR now not in the running, group A has been reduced to three teams,
SK Gaming ,
ESC Gaming swe and
Excello . The second group stage of the Intel Challenge Super Cup 8 will restart tonight with a game between
SK Gaming and
ESC Gaming swe.
