Natus Vincere vs
DTS - Match Information
In the semi-finals
DTS crossed paths with
Moscow Five and on the first map, de_dust2, the Russians failed to gain momentum on the Terrorist side which soon came back to haunt them when DTS managed to outgun them on the bombsites when both teams swapped sides. As a result, DTS took the first map with a score of 16:11 and went on to take de_tuscan with relative ease (16:3 scoreline) which secured them a slot in the grand finals.
Na'Vi faced
USSR in their semi-finals match which began on de_nuke, a map which the Ukrainian team were dreading after their defeat against
Storm on it in the group stage. The Ukrainian powerhouse seemed to learn from their mistakes however and managed to take the map with some comfort with a 16:4 score. After losing the first map the Russians were keen to take the second map and managed to claw de_dust2 away from Na'Vi just with a score of 16:14. As a result, the teams went on to the last map, de_tuscan. Although the Russians lost the first half of the map with an 11:4 score, they did not give up without a fight and managed to take 6 whole rounds off the infamous Na'Vi before making an exit from the event. Na'Vi finished their semi-final campaign with a 16:10 score on de_tuscan and a 2:1 score overall.
