After many rumors and GomTV's "announcement of an announcement" on the GSL Super Tournament broadcast last night, it has finally been made official that for the first time ever a foreign team will be participating fully in the GSTL's upcoming season.

When it was revealed that FXOpen was the team that had decided to move their players to Korea, fans of the team rejoiced, while others stood disgruntled, as they feared that their team would not perform well enough to deal with the top Korean teams in the area.

FXOpen, however, disagrees and feels that this is a huge step in a new direction for their team which will allow them to open new doors as they seek to compete on the highest level with the Korean teams that are well-regarded by fans throughout the world for the level of skill that these teams bring to the game.

GomTV was very excited to announce the news as they are also allowing the Korean houses to "draft" foreign players that wish to compete in the GSTL but don't have a team of their own to participate with. This should allow top foreign players that want to go to Korea to enjoy the expanded GSTL with a team that is willing to give them a shot. We shall see what the actual outcome of this move is, but for now all the foreigners will have at least one team to root for as the GSTL moves into it's expanded coverage over these coming months.
