StarsWar revisits StarCraft 2
The sixth edition of the famous Chinese event will have once again StarCraft 2 as a featured game. The RTS elite will gather in Shanghai to compete for $8,400.

The sixth edition of the famous Chinese event will have once again StarCraft 2 as a featured game. The RTS elite will gather in Shanghai to compete for $8,400.The month of April will mark the beginning of yet another major StarCraft 2 tournament. Shaghai will host the sixth edition of the StarsWar event and for a second time it will feature StarCraft 2 as a tournament discipline.
32 players from Europe, America and Asia have been invited to participate in this grand venue and there is barely an underdog among them.
Korea is represented by many a great names such as GSL champions
MVP,
MC,
FruitDealer and
NesTea, oldschool legends like
NaDa and
Boxer, as well as the WarCraft 3 heroes
Moon and
Lyn.
Europe will also send some of its best knights. Sent forth are the Terran commanders
Jinro,
Sjow and
TLO who are strengthened by the Protoss forces of
White-Ra,
Sase and
ToD. Europe's Zerg will be led by
Dimaga,
Ret and
Morrow.
Just two players from North America will take part in StarsWar 6 but they are not to be taken lightly. Those will be Liquid's
HuK and
IdrA, a current and former Code S-ers, respectively.
Asia will also be represented by some of its finest, including
Sen,
Loner and
Xiaot.
All rounds until the semi-finals will be played online, between April 23rd and May 15th. Then, the final four will fly all the way to Shaghai to take part in the live broadcast of the finals, the dates of which are yet to be announced. Until then, take a look at the monstrous brackets here. To match the grandeur of the event, the organizers are putting out the impressive prize pool of $8,400 with $6,100 going to the first place winner.
Two other facts about StarsWar Killer 6 are worth mentioning. First, the tournament will feature an unique map pool that will be a combination of the usual ladder maps in addition to newer ones (Shattered Temple), GSL maps (Tal'Darim Altar and Terminus) and iCCup battlefields that haven't been seen in major tournaments (Test Bug, Match Point).
Secondly, the games will be streamed live on iCCup's stream so anyone can tune in to see how his favorite players are doing.
