Virus Gaming acquires QWERTY

ImageVirus Gaming have picked up QWERTY, the French team which includes three former members of WCG 2007 champions emuLate.

The team formerly known as FR QWERTY has joined the FR Virus Gaming organisation. The team will be playing at the Gamers-Assembly event this weekend.

FR Virus Gaming lineup:
FR Mickael 'mSx' Cassisi
FR Mathieu 'R!Go' Bridet
FR Mathieu 'MaT' Leber
FR Rémi 'loduN' Colas
FR Romain 'kDj' Lopez

FR Rémi 'loduN' Colas told his new team's website:

"Upon creating the team, we did not want to join any organisation and wanted to just play under the tag QWERTY, which is the tag of our 'community'. After a few events and a growing thirst for victory, we are proud to join Virus Gaming. Unknown at the beginning of the season, this organisation has proved to be stable and can offer us all the seriousness we need."

The team is most famous for containing three members (mSx, MaT and R!Go) of the 2007 WCG gold medal winning team emuLate. That trio, along with loduN, played with drizzer under the oXmoze and placed 6th at the IEM IV European Championship but failed to make it out of the group stage at the IEM IV World Championship. Switching out drizzer for P0My those four, under the Mojawi Gaming name, were eliminated in the second group stage of ESWC 2010.

That latter tournament saw controversy as the team left the server after 20 rounds in their last game, when they had already been eliminated, causing problems for the organisers as the rounds counted in that game would send one team through and one team out.
