Evil Geniuses
Since SK Gaming came back to the grand final from the losers bracket, Evil Geniuses had a 1-0 lead at the start of this Bo5 series.
Game 1 summary
While Orie 'YoDa' Guo and Brendan 'se`busca' Taveirne on Moon Queen and Torturer ran the show for the most part of early and mid phase of the game, once Mark 'Tralfamadore' Seidl on Valkyrie got his Shrunken Head, the match started to turn into SK's favor.Ioannis 'Fogged' Loucas also picked up the crucial Portal Key for his Behemoth before too long which meant they won teamfight after teamfight, as well as securing Kongor kills whenever he would respawn. Tralf's Valk ended the game 9/0/9 with 550 gold/min which is enough evidence of the sort of farm he managed to get throughout the match, which lasted for 55 minutes in total.
Game 2 summary
Evil Geniuses made a big mistake by allowing SK Gaming to draft a myriad of their favorite heroes with Mark 'Tralfamadore' Seidl playing Aluna, Steven 'Korok' Ashworth on Doctor Repulsor and Nick 'Testie' Perentesis on Thunderbringer; while they themselves picked the ones they're not as comfortable with, most notably Orie 'YoDa' Guo on Wretched Hag. And it showed. The top and middle lanes were completely dominated by the Schroet Commandos who then snowballed the advantage into mid-game. The fact that Jun 'Dodo' Kang on Pharaoh and YoDa were missing about 1/3rd of their ultimates throughout the game certainly didn't help either and they decided it's time to concede when Korok came out with a 25 minute Sheepstick.
Game 3 summary
Despite things looking grim for SK in the early game (7-1 for EG on hero kills early on), their pseudo-blink line-up could easily escape the Pharaoh + Soulstealer deathtrap picked up by Evil Geniuses. Not to mention that once again, Mark 'Tralfamadore' Seidl was allowed to play Aluna, by now a trademark hero of his. Brendan 'se`busca' Taveirne did an excellent job of reigning terror with Pebbles though, but his targets were mostly the support heroes and not Steven 'Korok' Ashworth on Doctor Repulsor and Nick 'Testie' Perentesis on Valkyrie, which in return allowed to outfarm and outcarry Jun 'Dodo' Kang's Soulstealer. 55 minutes into the match it was all over after a series of bad decisions by the Evil Geniuses, who allowed the SK team to pick them off one by one before pushing into their base.
