UGC: Cypher is the champion, rapha 2nd

Imagesrs Cypher has become the champion of UGC after defeating rapha 2:0 in the Grand Final.

BY Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky has taken a step to reassert himself as the world's best QuakeLive player after defeating the IEM V World Champion US Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson, of SK Gaming, 2:0 to win Stermy's Ultimate Gaming Championship event. Cypher takes home $3,100 and finishes the tournament with only two map losses along the way. rapha would have been required to win two Bo3s to win the event.

1st BY Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky - $3,100
2nd US Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson - $1,600
3rd FR Kevin 'Strenx' Baeza - $1,100
4th DE Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul - $500

Cypher had finished 2010 on top of things thanks to his impressive results over the last five months which had him winning Quakecon, ASUS Summer and DreamHack Winter as well as placing 2nd in the BEAT IT tournament.

2011 has been much more arduous for the Belarusian though as he was forced to settle for 4th at the IEM V European Final after losses to av3k and Strenx followed by failing to make it out of the group stage at the World Championship after losing to Spart1e, Cooller and rapha.
