Moon, Haypro and Maka out of GSL

ImageAs the Code A preliminaries progress further, more and more players of whom big results were expected, drop out of the competition for a GSL gold.

As always, the preliminary rounds for GSL Code A are unforgiving and unpredictable. According to a TeamLiquid post summarizing twitter information from Code A caster Erik "Doa" Lonnquist, many a great players have already been knocked out of the battlefield.

All foreign fans should be sad finding out that two of the biggest hopes of international Zerg - SE Hayder 'HayprO' Hussein and AU Andrew 'mOOn-GLaDe' Pender - have been knocked pretty early in the tournament. The Australian has been stopped in the first round of the preliminaries and Haypro has lost to former WarCraft 3 player "Violet" in round 3.

In a bit more surprising news, two of the most famous Koreans KR Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang and KR Han Eul 'Maka' Kwak also, apparently, failed to qualify for the Code A brackets. Moon, who recently took second place at IEM World Championship, has made it to round 5 where his assault has been interrupted by fOu player and GSL newcomer KR Bang-Min 'TopClass' Jung. Maka, on the other hand, got a harder lot and had to play StarTale's KR Choi Ji 'Bomber' Sung, the latter quite famous for his stellar TvT.

Although those are the more shocking results, there a lot more talented players who were expected to make it to Code A, including IM's KR Sang Won 'Seed' Ahn and KR Kyoung-Lak 'Junwi' Park, StarTale's foreigner US Trevor 'Torch' Housten and SlayerS coach KR Seung-Pyo 'Cella' Hong.
