At the start of the year, the CS community saw the return of David 'CHEF-KOCH' Nagel to German side Team ALTERNATE . His first event saw him compete in Kiev at the IEM V European Championship Finals, where his side, which consisted of two standins, crashed out the group stage with five defeats.

But after three months, David 'CHEF-KOCH' Nagel has opted to quit the team, following many disappointments surrounding the team, including the European Finals. With the team down to four, Gerhard 'gerdi' Grimm will step in and fill David's place. He up until now been Alternate's sixth player, but will now get the chance to play in their starting five.

The Germany side are currently competing in the ESL German Pro Series, where they are sitting in second place in group b with two wins and a loss.
