The eight groups for the up-and-down matches of GSL March, which are to begin on March 14th has been announced. The format remains the same as the last season and a total of 24 players (8 Code A and 16 Code S) will battle to achieve a Code S status for the next season.

Only one foreigner - Chris 'HuK' Loranger - will be participating in the up-and-down matches. Chris is placed in a all-protoss group with some very formidable opponents in the faces of Jun Hyuk 'InCa' Song and Hyung-Sup 'Choya' Lee. After Idra's withdrawal from the GSL it will be nice to see his place being taken by another foreigner.



Groups B and E might be considered as the groups of death. The first is shared by GSL 2 finalists Jae-Duck 'NesTea' Lim and Jung-Hoon 'MarineKing' Lee and this might just lead to another epic revenge series between the two beasts. Group E consists of GSL January gold medallist Jong-Hyun 'Mvp' Jung, Blizzcon 2010 champion Min-Soo 'Genius' Jung and Yang 'Alicia' Joon Sik, who showed us deep understanding of every match-up during this season's run of Code A.
