In the second group of the IEM World Finals there were no upsets or tight situations like in group B. mTw, Frag Executors and complexity advance to the playoffs.

In the second group of the IEM World Finals there were no upsets or tight situations like in group B. mTw, Frag Executors and complexity advance to the playoffs.1st place:
After being the best team of the day
mTw deservedly advance as the top team of group A. Their first match was against their danish counterparts TCM-Gaming which they won 16:2. Their next match was their most important one against Frag eXecutors . They rolled over the polish team letting them only take three rounds. mTw train kept on rolling, next victim being the russian team Moscow Five who took seven rounds of the Danes. The game that ensured their top placement in the group was against Ultimax Gaming which ended 16:1 in favor of mTw.
Up until this point mTw gave away only thirteen rounds in four maps they played but their last match against complexity didn't carry any importance to them and it reflected in their game. compLexity br took advantage of that and took them down on de_nuke 16:3.
2nd place:
Team
Frag eXecutors took 2nd place in group A but they were expected to put up a better fight against the danish team mTw to which they lost 16:3. They won their games against Moscow Five and compLexity br quite convincingly, but their games against TCM-Gaming and Ultimax Gaming went right down to the wire. The Poles weren't as convincing as they were at the European Finals where they could and should end up better than 3rd.
3rd place:
American champions
compLexity br advance as third from their group after winning three and losing two of their matches. They took down Ultimax Gaming and Moscow Five but lost quite heavy to the polish Frag eXecutors and danish TCM-Gaming . They ensured their progress with a win over the already qualified and unmotivated team mTw . They'll have to up their game tomorrow to progress against the defending champions Na'Vi.
Teams that didn't qualify:
TCM-Gaming showed some great matches winning against complexity and coming really close against Frag Executors but they lacked consistency and didn't win the matches they could have.
Moscow Five managed to take down UMX and TCM but have fallen short against the top teams and were again unable to fulfill their potential and expectations.
Ultimax Gaming surprised and amazed me with their solid play. Their only big lose was against the team of the day mTw . They took down the danish team TCM 16:4 and put up a really good fight against teams like Frag Executors, complexity and M5 but in the end lacked experience to close down those matches.
