Spart1e has shocked everyone by advancing to the knockout stages of the IEM World Championship, and in first place at that.Sebastian 'Spart1e' Siira said that he would show some real "Sparta PoWha" if he made it to CeBIT. He's done just that, dropping just one match in the group stage - to Aussie underdog Dan 'dandaking' De Sousa of all people.
Much to everyone's surprise, Spart1e defeated Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky, Anton 'Cooller' Singov, Paul 'czm' Nelson, and Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson. To say he had a chance of even taking a map off any of the big three before the tournament would have been laughed at, but the Swede clearly had other things in mind.
Spart1e's guaranteed advancement meant one of the big names was going home early, and it was Cypher who lost out after a nail-biter with SK Gaming's rapha.
A four game winning streak against three of the top five duelers in the world is scarily impressive, and it was enough to give him top spot of the group, along with a two day rest before his next game.
Spart1e, Cooller, and rapha advance, while group A kicks off tomorrow at 9:10 CET. Follow all of the action here.

That's going way too far... Yes he was the underdog, but nobody familiar with the scene would have laughed at the idea of him having close games against the favourites, since everyone knows he's a good player :) Gratz to him for his good start though, hopefully he keeps it up!
