The GSL January champion and member of Team IM Jong-Hyun 'Mvp' Jung finished third in Group A of Code S and will drop down to the up-and-down matches where he will try to keep his S status.

Mvp started with a win against Hyperdub but proceeded to lose his second game against Sung-Jun 'July' Park. As the games in Group A unveiled, Mvp had to play the legendary Zerg for a second time and failed to come victorious yet again. This put him in third place, which does not allow him to proceed to the Ro16 brackets and puts his Code S status in danger.

With today's Code S matches over, four player move ahead in the competition. From Group A those are Min Chul 'MC' Jang and Sung-Jun 'July' Park; from Group B the qualified player are Kyu Jong 'Clide' Han and Hyun Wo 'Byun' Byun.
