GSL March to begin next Monday
GomTV has as of today announced that the new season of the GSL will begin on February 21st. The March edition of the tournament will feature a different schedule and is to alternate between Code S and Code A matches.

GomTV has as of today announced that the new season of the GSL will begin on February 21st. The March edition of the tournament will feature a different schedule and is to alternate between Code S and Code A matches.If you have been wondering what is happening with the largest StarCraft 2 venue in the East, there is now all the information you need regarding the next season of GSL, namely . It is now clear that the games begin just next week, on February 21st, starting with matches from Code A. Some alterations have been made to the tournament format and there will no longer be Code A and Code S games in one day; instead there will be constant rotation throughout the tournament.

Skyblue = Code A games, Orange = Code S Games
Furthermore, GomTV has announce that while Code S Ro32 will keep its previous format, the Ro16 quite different: players will go directly into a single elimination brackets.

Lastly, the Code A brackets have also been determined with the 32 players being divided into two groups. Of those 32, five foreigners will be fighting for a place in Code S:
Yi 'Loner' Dai,
Chris 'HuK' Loranger,
Hayder 'HayprO' Hussein,
Joseph 'Ret' de Kroon and
Andrew 'mOOn-GLaDe' Pender.


It seems that GomTV are still trying to find the perfect tempo for the GSL and the renewed format seems like a good change of pace. Finally, if you have forgotten how the Code S groups look like, you can refresh your memory here.
