The committee behind Dreamhack have announced that there will be ~$230,000 in prize money for their 2011 events.

Late last month, Dreamhack officials revealed the dates for their 2011 and 2012 events. Just over a week later and another announcement has come to light, this time regarding prize money.

According to the announcement, in excess of ~$230,000 (or €170,000) in prize money will be up for grabs at this seasons Dreamhack events.

Quoting DreamHack CEO, Robert Ohlén:

"The prize purse and tournaments will reinforce yet again DreamHack’s position as one of the leading eSports events worldwide.

This year we will intensify our work around eSports, hold more qualifiers and focus on an even greater World Finals at DreamHack Winter in November."

The official games for Dreamhack will be revealed later on tonight, as officials plan to unveil them live on stream at 18:00CET.
