The final continued the trend of nail-bitting and thrilling matches in the IEM European finals. fnatic against mTw delivered three unforgetable maps and gave us a new superstar in the shape of Xizt from team fnatic.

de_nuke: fnatic 11 : 16 mTw (8:7 , 3:9)

Fnatic started on the ct side taking pistols and the next two rounds where mtw ecoed. But mtw pulled it back to 3-3 right away and the trading of rounds began. Both teams managed to string a few rounds but the other team replied right back. The half time ended with an 8-7 for fnatic. Not the safest of leads specially going into the terrorist side of nuke against a team like mtw.

Mtw took the pistol round in the second half and things started looking bad for fnatic. Their third round buy didn't work and the rounds started pilling up for mtw, score 13-7. Fnatic started their comeback and managed to get some rounds with impressive play from Xizt, but the closest they got was 14-11 in favor of the danish team. Mtw took the remaining two rounds and needed only one more map to become the IEM European champions.

Fnatic again won the knife round and chose the heavily favored ct side. They started strong winning the pistol round and their momentum continued until the fifth round where mtw rushed outside and got positions on fnatic, securing their first round of the map. Fnatic took over control again and mtw ran into their solid defense time and time again, the score suddenly 11-2 in the favor of the swedes. It looked dangerous for team mtw but they managed to snatch the last two rounds giving themselves a good chance with some solid ct play.

Fnatic took the pistol round with an ace from Xizt and the next round pulling 13-4 ahead. Mtw had to risk a famas/scout buy and it worked perfectly for them. Mtw proved their power on ct side of de_train indeed and fnatic's attacks were ripped apart. The score was suddenly 14-13 still in the favor of fnatic but they were on an eco and they were stuggling to survive at this point. After the eco fnatic managed to sneak three guys ivy and traded kill for kill coming out on top putting themselves on map point. But they were denied and it went into an overtime.

The overtimes went right down to the wire both teams winning three rounds on their ct sides and the first overtime wasn't enough to decide who is the better team on de_train. Fnatic again took a 3-2 lead after their ct side but mtw were unable to stop their attacks this time and fnatic won a breathtaking map by three rounds. Amazing play by both teams and and a map to remember.

de_inferno: fnatic 16 : 9 mTw

The map that decided so many titles decided this one as well. Fnatic started on the terrorist side and won the pistols and the following rounds. They started strong again taking a 5-3 lead, but mtw eventually found the answer to their attacks and took the half 8-7.

Fnatic took their fifth pistol round of the final which spelled trouble for the Danes. And indeed it was as it seemed everywhere they went fnatic's new hero Xizt was ready and waiting. Xizt played amazing troughout the tournament and the final, but this half was entirely his show as he got three and four kills round after round. Mtw managed to get two rounds but fantic were running away with it. Score at map point was 15-9 and mtw looked like they will pull one back. But MVP of the finals, Xizt didn't agree with that observation and went for it. He took down both opponents in an impressive fashion and deservedly ended this final with a 2-1 win for the swedes from team fnatic.
