Av3k defeats Cypher to advance to the finals
The two team mates, Av3k and Cypher got paired up for the semi-final, a match that promised to show some great games. And a great match we got, going all the way into five maps, either player could have won any map and the game.
Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky had gone through the group stages losing only one map, while 
Maciej 'av3k' Krzykowski had lost to 
Kevin 'Strenx' Baeza and had a harder way to the semi-finals. However, it was still clear for everyone that either player could win this match between two of East Europe's best Quake Live players.
The match started out on Dismemberment with Cypher getting the first frags of the match. Despite his initial lead it was Av3k who took control of the map, but in every fight between them Cypher was able to take the advantage by hitting a bunch of direct rockets. However, without any item timings Cypher was unable to constantly keep Av3k at bay and finally Av3k got one frag. Towards the end of the match the items got divided between the players and as Av3k is attacking mega health, Cypher is there waiting and deals a massive amount of damage killing Av3k and winning the map 6-2.
Blood Run starts with Av3k in control but once again Cypher deals massive amounts of damage to Av3k while not taking any, resulting in him taking control of the map. As Av3k attempts to counter using the same tactics Cypher doesn't separate the spawn times for red armor and mega health, giving Av3k a free red armor. Av3k immediately capitalizes on Cyphers mistake, getting three frags and with only a few minutes remaining Av3k successfully defends winning 0-3.
Continuing on to Furious Heights the match starts with the roles reversed, Av3k is unable to keep control of the items but compensates by dealing a ton of damage. Staying even for a while the match tilts in Av3k's favor as Cypher fails a rocket jump and kills himself. With Av3k in the lead, the match goes back and forth, Av3k successfully defending against Cypher who is pulling off some great attacks, finally ending the match 0-3 for Av3k.
Aerowalk was Cyphers map to win and he immediately started out stringing seven frags together. When Av3k finally gets the control he is slow at catching up until he starts getting into close range fights with Cypher, almost making it an even game. However, Cypher pulls off some amazing prediction rockets, killing Av3k who doesn't even get to see Cypher, from this point on the map is decided and Cypher wins the match 13-11.
Hektik started with Av3k getting red armor and mega health without too much problem and converting it into a 1-11 lead until he gets killed by Cypher who survives with one health. The result is complete madness with neither player being able to get anything resembling control of the map. After some five minutes of either player killing the other and then getting killed almost immediately Av3k emerges victorious, with the score 8-19.
Av3k wins against Cypher 3-2 in maps and moves on to the final.
