Fnatic have beaten NaVi in a three map thriller to advance to the Grand-Finals. Celebration video inside!Topping group B saw fnatic get a BYE in the first round of the playoffs, were they would go onto face Natus Vincere who have just come from a 2-0 over Meet Your Makers ru.
Natus Vincere 16-08 fnatic
- de_dust2 (9-6, 7-2)
After winning the knife round, fnatic chose to start on the terrorist side of de_dust2, but would end up losing the pistol round. But a bomb plant allowed them to drop AK47's, which proved a very good decision, as it brought them the second round. The Swedes then managed to to string five more rounds together, up until round eight were a retake on the B bombsite from Natus Vincere resulted in the round, and the remaining seven going to in the favour of the Ukrainians.
The second half started with Natus Vincere claiming their second pistol round of the game, but this time didn't let their game slip on the following rounds. From that point, the Swedish side looked uncomfortable holding the bombsites, as the Swedes had a hard time dealing with Danylo 'Zeus' Teslenko's tactics, only managing to win two rounds before the Ukrainians won the game 16-08.
Natus Vincere 09-16 fnatic
- de_inferno (6-9, 3-7)
Starting as Counter-Terrorist, fnatic won their first pistol round of the match, thanks to a strong hold on house stairs. They quickly extended their lead to 2-0, but the first gun round saw Natus Vincere reduce the deficit to one. From that point on, rounds exchanged, until towards the end the Swedes managed to open up a two round lead, with the score settling as 9-6.
Upon switching sides, an attack on the B site from fnatic saw them in a two vs one situation with the bomb down. But some well placed USP shots from Sergey 'starix' Ishchuk allowed him to win the round, and claim his teams third pistol round of the match. The following round then saw a change of pace, as a buy round from fnatic secured them the second round. The Swedes capitalised on their success, winning the remaining rounds to win the game, while only letting the Ukrainians win an additional two rounds.
Natus Vincere 03-16 fnatic
- de_train (3-12, 0-4)
A knife round win by the Swedes saw them chose the obvious Counter-Terrorist side. They got things going with a pistol win, and added to that despite Natus Vincere buying weapons. A Stronger performance followed by fnatic , which enabled them to win the half 12-3.
On the change over, a careful approach by team tactician Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon saw them win a crucial pistol round. From that point, the team never faltered, winning the remaining three rounds, resulting in the Swedes going through to the final.
