While Av3k was able to dominate Fazz on his way to the semi-final, Cooller had a harder time having to deal with K1llsen who was hitting 76% rail. The East Europeans will now go on to face Cypher and Strenx respectively.Moving on from the quarter-finals are
Maciej 'av3k' Krzykowski and
Anton 'Cooller' Singov who had to face
Pelle 'Fazz' Söderman and
Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul respectively.
Av3k had an easy way to the semi-final, starting out his match against Fazz on Blood Run he got a good start and was able to dominate Fazz from start to finish. The story repeated itself on Dismemberment when Av3k got the advantage at the start and was then able to control the map for the majority of the match. Unfortunately for Fazz when he was able to take control of the map he was unable to use it to his advantage and quickly lost it again.
Lost World would be a bit better for Fazz, who had a real chance at winning but after having come back from a bad start he was unable to counter Av3k's perfect defensive play.
Cooller versus K1llsen would be a lot more interesting. Starting out on Vertical Vengeance, Cooller got a good spawn and was able to keep the railgun away from K1llsen. However he let K1llsen get Mega Health and yellow armors cleanly several times, when K1llsen then also got a railgun he was under pressure. However from out of nowhere Cooller pulled of some of the most amazing shots of this tournament while K1llsen was unable to hit anything, giving him a comfortable map win.
Moving on to Blood Run, K1llsen found his aim once again and Cooller tried to counter by almost disappearing from the map, hoping for K1llsen to mess up the item timings. Five minutes in and Cooller's wish had been granted, he got control only to lose it in a minute to K1llsen who pulled off a 76% rail accuracy, ending the map 10-1 in favor of K1llsen.
Dismemberment would be tight, really tight. K1llsen hit anything and was able to out smart Cooller in some situations, while Cooller when he did pull off brilliant moves was unable to follow them up. However, K1llsen would once again fail to control the items, giving Cooller the chance to fight back. The map that could have gone either way ended 4-6 to Cooller.
If Dismemberment was tight, I don't know what to say about Furious Heights. While K1llsen clearly out aimed Cooller, it was Cooller who was able to control the items. But when Cooller had the stack advantage he was too afraid of K1llsen's aim to run after him. Another map that could have gone either way went into overtime, with Cooller pulling ahead winning 3-5.
Av3k will go on to face Cypher in the semi-finals tomorrow, Sunday, at 11:00 CET while Cooller will play against Strenx an hour later.
