Former CN TyLoo tactician and captain CN Zheng Wei 'alex' Bian spoke in an interview to fnatic's website about his retirment from professional Counter-Strike.

alex's fondest memory from his career:

"Actually there are quite a lot of amazing memories. If I had to choose one, I would go for the WEG3 finals on December 11th, 2005, it was held in the stadium of the Beijing Steel Plant. That’s the very first time I won the world championship, which is a fabulous experience!"

Does he have regrets about becoming a progamer?

"I have never regretted a second for choosing this career even if E-Sports didn't really bring me much fortune. More importantly, I was respected by many people. I also got to know my good brothers who I have been playing with for a long time, I’m quite satisfied."

Were there goals he felt went unaccomplished?

"Of course there is. We didn’t really achieve good results when we played abroad, although we were very close to that goal in the year of 2009 and 2010, we didn’t make it because of the lack of power. We didn’t really get any good titles in international events these 2 years, which I really wanted badly."

alex's biggest successes were wins at WEG s3 and WEG Masters in late 2005 and early 2006. After the departure of players like Jungle and sakula over the years alex came to prominence as the savvy veteran holding together different rotations of younger players. This led up to the era of TyLoo, who he led to numerous top 4 placings but could not get over the hump to approaching winning a major tournament.
