The 12 duelers for the IEM IV European Championship Finals have been confirmed.Following a huge online campaign, the ESL has whittled down over 30 Quake Live players to just 12 for the IEM IV European Championship Finals.
Completing the field of players is Maciej 'av3k' Krzykowski, who defeated Gareth 'GaRpY' Marshall in a win-or-don't-go-to-Ukraine game last Sunday.
IEM IV European Championship Finals participants:
Richard 'noctis' Gansterer
Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky
Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul
Alexandre 'GoHLinK' Fouchet
Kevin 'Strenx' Baeza
Maciej 'av3k' Krzykowski
Robert 'tox1c' Kopczynski
Anton 'Cooller' Singov
Pelle 'Fazz' Söderman
Michael 'mAdix' Hindersson
Sebastian 'Spart1e' Siira
Dan 'zsx' Sanders
One notable exclusion from the participants' list is Alessandro 'stermy' Avallone, who amassed too many penalty points which saw him removed from the competition.
David 'serak' Thorvaldsson cancelled his participation in the finals and has been replaced with Michael 'mAdix' Hindersson.
Other than stermy, all of the top European players will be in Kiev competing for a prize fund of $11,000. The tournament runs from January 20 to 23, and you can follow it in its entirety here.

hmm this must be wrong, fazz qualified from his group, serak wasn't even in that group. madix must've been the player that replaced serak since he came third behind serak in group E.
