k1llsen has won the ESL Pro Series XVII final for Quake Live, utilizing his superior aim to come from behind on both maps.Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul has won his second ESL Pro Series title after 2-0'ing Benjamin 'calipt' Jakob. It wasn't as easy as many will have predicted though, with calipt coming out strong early on but ultimately being out-aimed which cost him both maps.
calipt opened up and maintained a healthy lead on t7, and with three minutes left and the score at 9-5 he looked to be taking an unlikely one map lead. k1llsen scored a couple of frags in quick succession but a comeback wasn't looking likely.
But the IEM V gamescom champion started to hit almost every shot he fired, and with 10 seconds left had flipped the game on its head by taking the lead 10-9. calipt was clearly down and out and tried to push for an equalizing kill but k1llsen played the situation out perfectly.
On the second map calipt again opened up a nice lead, but Hektik is one of those maps where anyone can string together a ton of frags with no reply from their opponent. k1llsen did just that, and within two minutes of being 5-0 down had opened up his own, and what turned out to be, insurmountable lead.
The map finished 22-12 in k1llsen's favor, giving him his second EPS title. The next EPS season will not feature Quake Live, though, so it is unsure when or whether k1llsen will defend his domestic crown.
EPS Season 17 Quake Live standings:
1st - Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul - €1,000
2nd - Benjamin 'calipt' Jakob - €500

ESL should wake the fuck up and use the money on something better, even one more event per year in germany would be better, i doubt even germans give a shit about EPS
rotterdam casting in english, holy shit balls that must make the quality of the event so much better!!
you don't know 2GD, Joe, Rotterdam, ClouD and you don't know anything about the EPS series.
well I see, you are 21 years, you don't have ANY idea of eSport and events.
2gd is my hero
I was watching WCG 2001 whilst you was still learning to use a knife and fork
No one gives a shit about EPS, in Quake it's full of 2 good players and the rest terrible
ESL should use the money on a world event instead, or something else
If you disagree with this you're dumb, but as I see you're all german that wouldn't suprise me.
