Organisers of Arbalet Cup have released a statement which states that this may be the end of Arbalet Cups.We last saw an Arbalet Cup back in July with their Dallas event, and more recently a Kazakhstan event for the domestic teams. But the future of Arbalet is in doubt after a news article was posted over at their website, which reads that there will be no more Arbalet Cups in the near future, or possibly ever.
Originally the purpose of the Arbalet Cups, funded by Murat 'Arbalet' Zhumashevich, was to strengthen and motivate the teams of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). It was also to show if a team from the region could cope with the pressure of the world stage and prevail over other teams. But after two years, Murat believes his hard work and well earned money has achieved his goal, demonstrated by this year's IEM, ESWC and WCG champions: Natus Vincere of the Ukraine.
So with his task complete, it could mark the end of the Arbalet Cup. However, there may be a revival of Arbalet if Valve decide to go through with a second version of Counter-Strike, but only time will tell.
