EG's SC2 player and recent MLG D.C. champion Greg 'IdrA' Fields talks to MLG about the event where he took gold.Recently crowned MLG D.C. champion
Gregory 'IdrA' Fields who also just won his match in the Ro32 in the GSL S2 sat down with MLG yesterday to discuss the event. Due to his success in second season of the GSL in Korea he probably will not be attending MLG Dallas in just a few short weeks, but IdrA did express he really enjoyed competing in a US event.
D.C. was the first live American tournament you've attended in a long time. How did it feel to be back in front of a home crowd?
He also discussed the controversial move of
Chris 'HuK' Loranger to mothership rush in the LB finals of MLG:
One more question for you. HuK had a show-stopping moment in the Losers Bracket Finals when he went for a Mothership rush. Does Huk's bravado earn a thumbs up or thumbs down from you?

"It was pretty incredible, by far the best crowd interaction I've ever experienced. After I won the Finals I had to walk around the outside of the SC2 area to do an interview and a huge group of people who were waiting for me followed en masse all the way over. It was actually overwhelming, the number of fans who approached me asking for autographs and pictures at times, but it was awesome. I never even dreamed it could be like that in the US, and SC2 has only been out a few months."

"It was absolutely idiotic. This is first and foremost a competition. No one can say with a straight face that he felt that Mothership rush was his best chance to win the game. Fan service is great, without the fans we wouldn't exist, but the fans are there to watch SC2, not WWE. It cheapens the tournament to do something like that."

@djid - If hes garbage, wtf are you then?
Good at SC though.
To be honest it gives the other players a better chance to win if HuK is going to do strategies that severely decrease his chances to succeed to 'please the fans' - but it's also his choice if he wants to do so. IdrA is also correct that there are other ways to please the fans (such as giving interviews, maybe being involved in shoutcasting etc.) than doing goofy strategies - but at the end of the day, if HuK wants to mothership rush, it's his call.
