MLG officially comments on the cancellation of the WoW tournament at MLG Dallas and the future of the game in their 2011 season. After prematurely announcing that MLG was dropping World of Warcraft from their PC circuit, GameAche had the chance to sit down with the Senior Vice President at MLG, Lee Chen, to clear up the rumors.
In the discussion, the MLG VP reaffirms that the only reason the game was dropped from the Dallas tournament is due to problems with arenas in the expansion, and that the MLG is 'working closely with Blizzard to coordinate timing and availability of the Arenas in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.'
With that being said, it is clear competitive WoW is on a steady decline, and as discussed by Zech's in his 'So long, esports, and thanks for all the hits' article - WoW's future in eSports is looking rather disappointing.

Or actually... burn in hell you fucking scumbag. You won't be missed.
I agree with the players.
WoW brought people to the eSports community, who went onto watch and play other games which they otherwise wouldn't.
The reaction of fans of other games is ridiculous, you might not enough a game but the more games involved (especially a game like WoW which dwarfs most games in terms of its pull) was only a good thing for eSports as a whole.
You may not like the game but noone is asking you to watch, I don't like games like WC3 but wouldn't want it dropped, same with other games).
TLDR: WoW being dropped from eSports is bad for eSports in general and only narrow minded people cant see that.
Alot of games in eSports are suffering badly right now, changes like this do not help eSports grow, they do the exact opposite, if you wanna cheer that then go right ahead.
Unfortunately, there was never lan support, good stream or replay support or anything else for WoW. Therefore, it never became an esport. It was blizzards own fault (But then again, wow has been crappy@arena since Wrath of harry potter got released)
