Excitement over BoxeR's GSL match caused SC2 sites and GOMtv itself to go down under the traffic. Over 437,533 viewed the VODs and 774,866 were logged in watching live streams. The televised appearance of legendary esports figure
Yo-Hwan 'BoxeR' Lim in his GSL S2 Ro64 match caused more than just excitement levels to be maxed out as StarCraft II community websites and GOMtv itself were temporarily taken down by the surge in traffic which surrounded it.
Despite preparing for such interest PlayXP went down, as did PGR21 and the world famous Fomos. GOMtv servers fell during set1 causing many users to be disconnected from the live streams, the site itself eventually going down also.
The downtime caused viewer numbers on foreign streams to rise by a staggering 13,000. "GSL" and "Lim Yo-Hwan" were in the top of South Korean search engine Naver's list. The facts and figures which followed continued to amaze as views of the VODs reached 437,533 and 774,866 were logged in to watch live streams
An amusing note relayed by TeamLiquid:
BoxeR remains the most famous StarCraft:BroodWar player, and perhaps overall figure, in esports history despite his competitive form having taken a nosedive since 2005 and being forced to finally fulfil his mandatory military service in 2006. Known for his, at the time, incredible micro and innovative use of the dropship the man they call the 'Emperor' won back-to-back OSL titles, a KPGA Tour title (later to become the MSL) and two WCG gold medals.

"As soon Lim Yo-Hwan’s victory was decided, Zoo Gallery, Dusan Bears (Korean Baseball Team) Gallery, other Korean Baseball team galleries, and other sites with gallery’s that had anything to do with bears (Korean word for bear is Gom) were bombarded with insults and profanities. Even Mabinogi Gallery (Korean MMO) and SC2 Gallery could not escape the same fate."
