WEM 2010 announced
The World e-Sports Masters 2010 will take place November 3rd to 7th in Hangzhou, China, once again. There is a $125,000 total prize purse which covers CS 1.6, WC3 and Crossfire.

The World e-Sports Masters 2010 will take place November 3rd to 7th in Hangzhou, China, once again. There is a $125,000 total prize purse which covers CS 1.6, WC3 and Crossfire.The World e-Sports Masters (WEM) 2010 event has been announced and will take place from November 3rd to 7th in Hangzhou, China. This is the third edition of the event and once more will be co-hosted by the city of Hangzhou and JoongAng Ilbo. The total prize purse is $125,000 and that is split up across three games: Counter-Strike 1.6, WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne and Crossfire. The venue will be the Hangzhou Electronic Science and Technology University.
The press release states that there will be eight teams for CS and Crossfire each and eight players for WC3. They will compete in a double elimination tournament. For CS there is a prize purse of $69,000.
WEM explained their reasons for including Crossfire:
Last year's WEM was won by fnatic (using threat as a stand-in) and Grubby, in CS and WC3 respectively.
WEM 2009 prize ceremony:

The press release states that there will be eight teams for CS and Crossfire each and eight players for WC3. They will compete in a double elimination tournament. For CS there is a prize purse of $69,000.
WEM explained their reasons for including Crossfire:
"Crossfire, a key FPS game from Korea, is added as an official game in 2010. Crossfile will be played along with Counter-Strike1.6 and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne for the five-day tournament.
Crossfire is the top ranked online FPS game in China and its market share is steadily increasing in China. Since Crossfire shows its prolonged growth potential in the market, WEM 2010 will attract more e-sports professionals and fans in China."
