In terms of matchup, GSL will be a repeat of IEM Cologne, with zerg taking on terran. The game has changed since then, however, and Fruitdealer recently admitted that patch 1.1 helped him to regain his form against terran. That being said, the zerg player had already overcome two terrans before the patch and is viewed by some as the best ZvT player there is. With so much match-specific momentum behind him, it's hard to not view Fruitdealer as the favourite.
HopeTorture will definitely have his work cut out then. He has just one tournament game against zerg under his belt, but when your opponent is none other than Hyeong Ju 'Check' Lee it probably counts for something. Moreover, the man formerly known as Rainbow has dropped just one map throughout the tournament, making him the most consistent player of the first GSL season so far. His chances of victory will likely to come down to how well he can prepare for the TvZ match.
The grand final of GSL season one will be played on Saturday, October 2. You can keep up with all the action right here.
