Two of the zerg race's most prestigious representatives spoke about the state of the game today.Just 24 hours after his terran rant one of the top Korean zerg players seems to have changed his tune. Won Ki 'FruitDealer' Kim was interviewed after his win in the GSL round of 16 and was unsurprisingly more upbeat about the recent patch. He confessed that the update has definitely improved his form. "After [the patch], I didn't lose as much." In fact, he took the chance to poke fun at some of his terran buddies, saying that "Clide and other Terrans started saying that they can't beat Zerg anymore, but I think they're only saying that because they're used to thinking that when Terran faces Zerg."
Naturally, Fruitdealer was also happy with his victory, putting himself into the last eight of Starcraft II's biggest tournament so far. On the other side of the coin, Gregory 'IdrA' Fields, who was eliminated earlier in the tournament, feels like patch 1.1.0 is already out of date. "Blizzard patched the state the game was in several weeks ago," he said in an article on Team EG's website. "ZvT and ZvP will remain largely unchanged while the balance issues in TvP will only be made worse."
The runner up from IEM Cologne did admit that ZvP will be improved from his perspective. "Zealot rushes were the only popular way for protoss to pressure zerg," he said. "As such nerfing zealots should give zerg the time they need." However, in the terran match up, he feels that the reaper nerf is only a minor setback. "All other terran aggression [...] remains mostly untouched." He was equally underwhelmed by the tank changes, claiming that they are "essentially irrelevant in ZvT."
