IEM Cologne 3rd place player Dimaga spoke to GosuGamers ahead of his King of The Hill game against Huk.Dmytro 'DIMAGA' Filipchuk must have mixed feelings about his start to Starcraft II. During IEM Cologne he had some great success with an impressive 3rd place. But by his own admission, he has struggled lately, especially against protoss. On top of that, the zerg race has a whole has had a difficult time in Europe. In a brief interview, the GosuGamers KoTH challenger spoke about that issue, as well an eclectic mish-mash of subjects.
Rather than complain about the other races, the mTw player believes that zerg is the weak link, rather than protoss being too strong. "I wouldn't say we've reached the race's full potential," he said, "but it's still very hard to deal with Terran and Protoss." Why is that? According to Dimaga it's the lack of damage output: "Zerg really don't have any good damage-per-second units."
According to GosuGamers, the Ukrainian had even considered switching race but he quashed this rumour in the interview, saying instead that he is "waiting for a patch." However, it is unclear whether he might swap if the upcoming patch doesn't meet his expectations.
Speaking about his previous success in online cups, Dimaga believes that a longer series allows for more mind games "because when you are playing best of seven it is a lot more different maps and more games." However, he admitted that his preparation remains the same, no matter what the event: "laddering and playing games with friends and team mates."
