Just a few days ago the CPL released their new website and now their online electronic sports league, CAL, has also been announced with Heroes of Newerth as the first game. According to the CPL, they have partnered with S2 games to run a North-American online tournament for HoN. This means CAL is joining the ranks of many communities that will be hosting online tournaments for the game.

CALeague is known mainly for showcasing the best North-American CS teams in their 'CAL-I' or Invite division. Years ago, the league was highly reputable and only the best LAN proven teams were allowed into invite, with other teams falling into CAL-P, CAL-M, CAL-IM or CAL-O divisions. With the introduction of CEVO and the destruction of the CPL, CAL slowly fell off the map to the point where many teams would not bother to play in the league.

Information on CAL HoN tournament:

Registration will open September 1st and run through September 29th (128 team tournament, 5 players per team). It will be a single elimination event in a best-of-one prelim and a best-of-three playoffs (quarter-finals onwards) running from October 8th to October 24th.
