Imagek1llsen is the champion of Gamescom after a thrilling come from behind win over rapha to secure the title. The av3k killer proved his worth on home soil.

German player Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul is the champion of IEM V Gamescom after vanquishing SK Gaming's Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson three maps to two in the final. rapha had a 2:1 lead in maps but k1llsen came back with big play on aerowalk and ztn to take the title from the defending champion of Gamescom.

Along his way to the title k1llsen also defeated av3k, strenx, bodzo and draven. His side of the playoff bracket was one expected to be dominated by the Pole av3k who looked set to meet either Cooller or rapha in the final. k1llsen overcame a 0:2 map start to secure his finals spot with three straight map wins.

Truly an impression accomplishment by k1llsen, a player who has been without a major organization for a long time now, as he overcame two of the top 4 QuakeLive players in the world right now and won a title on home soil.

k1llsen spoke to rakaka after the av3k victory in the semi-finals, a video interview which can be viewed here.

IEM V Gamescom standings:
1st DE k1llsen $3,500
2nd US rapha $1,700
3rd PL av3k $850
4th RU Cooller $550
