Two zergs and two terrans qualified from the last two groups at IEM Gamescom. The bracket stage of IEM Cologne will amazingly have zero protoss players tomorrow. Two terrans and two zerg qualified from groups C and D today, after more intense matches, joining the one zerg and three terrans from yesterday. SK's Fredrik 'MaDFroG' Johansson will face Group B winner Tomasz 'Tarson' BoroĊ in his first knockout game.
Group D was the tightest of them all, despite Gregory 'IdrA' Fields topping the group with a flawless record. The other three players managed just one win each, but it was Benjamin 'DeMusliM' Baker who scraped through on round difference. The map he took from Idra in their match put him through by the narrowest of possible margins.
Group C was more clear cut but served up some weirdness of its own. Pierre 'SarenS' Guivarch surprisingly topped the group (again, by round difference). His only defeat came at the hands of Dmytro 'DIMAGA' Filipchuk, who came 2nd in the group. It was an uphill struggle for the zerg player, having to face two terrans after losing his first game against Dennis 'HasuObs' Schneider but he pulled it off and will move on to face yet another terran - his mTw team-mate Demuslim - in the next round.
